Here is now the next *FREE* Module for DNN 3.X "DNNDownload".

This is a Upload / Download Module which is basicly the same as the GoodDogs Repository (my favorite Download module for DNN 2.X).
Completely in the sense, take the best and make still better it.

The DNNDownload module is actual loaclized for german and english language.

The templates (skins) which works with GoodDogs Repository 2, will work also with DNNDownload.

Here some Feature for the people who do not now the feature of GoodDogs Repository (if there are people, who do not know the module, what I can't believe):

- Full template support (skinning)

- Moderate Uploads

- Rating

- commenting

- Role based permission for rating, commenting, upload download on module base

- files are stored in a DNNDownload folder, not in filemanager

- file based download role permission (not available in GoodDogs Repository 2)

and so on.

EDITED 03/29/05:

DNNDownload is no longer available for Download.

Please read this thread

EDITED 03/30/03:

DNNDownload is back for a while. For more Informatione read the thread above.

Some other problems I notice - I uploaded a file and then uploaded another as someone different and only one of the files is visible - the other appears to have been erased.

There is no link to place the comments or to download the file its like part of the module is missing.

Settings: I have it allowed to allow everybody to post comments or upload so its not a settings thing at this point

Hm,
that is the second time now I've heard from a problem like this.
Do you have any special modules for user management installed ?

Nothing else is on this install - its totally clean - no new modules and only one account besides the admin and host

Note: with the default dnn skin there seems to be a problem with the table the module makes being closed it messes up the skin - I havent looked to see where yet.

OK,
the problem is, we are achtual not able to reproduce that problem.
Since yesterday we have made up to 20 different installation, and nothing no problems.

If it is a clean local installation (the database is small). do you think is it possible that you can send me that database or a backup of the database file, so that I can figuere out wheter there is a problem with the database ?

I have sent you an email with some instructions.

The only thing what is actually clear, is that the problem is a localization problem.

If the update which I sent to you do not solve the problem, I must tomorrow setup a test installation with english dabase server and english windows server ...

I too have the exact same issue...

I installed it, and do not have the Link for Comments or download.
Additionally the default style only shows the last uploaded file.

Can you provide me with the fix as well?

Kind Regards,
Sean

Thanks for the quick Response...

I copied the two DLLs in..
although it does not appear to have changed anything...

The comments/Download area are still not visible.

Should I remove the module and perform a fresh install?

No,
I think it will not solvte the problem.

It seems to bet that possible something on your (some) installation will be totally different from the most other installation, so that this problem with DNNDownload occurs.

I now from hundreds of installation that work fine, and three of the installation has exactly the problem you describe.

I'm not able to reproduce the problem, perfectly all the same I install DNN.

Could you please describe your installation a little bit more in detail.
What operating system, dnn version, installed modules, changes in web.config and so on.
May be we have a chance with some mor information to reproduce the problem, so that we can fix it.

I would assume that it would not have changed the end result.

I currently have 3.0.12 DNN installed.

Fairly clean install with a purchased skin and a few installed modules (non should, that I know of prevent it).
