Hans-Peter,
What do I have to do to allow DNNPortal-Download Version 1.0.9 to download *.msi files?

Richard, you must add the extension msi to the file upload extensions.
Login as host, select ´host settings - advanced setting - other settings. There you will find the entry file upload extensions: The default for this entry is: swf, jpg, jpeg, jpe, gif, bmp, png, doc, xls, ppt, pdf, txt, xml, xsl, css, zip you can now add the msi extension, the result shows like this. swf, jpg, jpeg, jpe, gif, bmp, png, doc, xls, ppt, pdf, txt, xml, xsl, css, zip, msi
HTH
best regards
Hans-Peter

Thanks I will try that.
One more favor is it possible to incorporate in your next release the following option? Rather than saving the file to our server, I would like an option to only have a pointer saved in the database referencing a specific download url?
